PLUTO Sauna Essen

It was a nice facility, and the staff were friendly and tolerated my very poor German. Lots of sexy men, and whether you’re there for a fun time or just to enjoy „den Stimmung,“ you’ll enjoy it.

I've visited saunas in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Britain, and the Netherlands, and this sauna blows them all away by a very significant margin. I had the good fortune of Pluto being the first sauna I ever visited, and as a result none of the others have come even close to matching up. The facilities are spacious, modern, and clean, with a lot to offer. Staff is friendly. They do a lot of special deals such as a reduced entry fee on Thursdays, special days for STD testing, and more. Unlike nearly every other sauna I've been to, it is clean and doesn't have even a single corner which smells mouldy or dirty. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Pluto sauna has 3 floors and if u are new to the sauna, u might get lost in the dark rooms.more similar to 'der boiler' in Berlin.friendly staff with a great service. It has everything u are expecting.will visit again.

I had an incredible experience at the sauna yesterday. The staff was amazing, with a special shout-out to Malek, who was exceptionally professional and polite. His customer service was the best I’ve encountered—truly top-notch. The atmosphere was relaxing, the food was delicious, and the overall experience was fantastic. This is definitely a place I’ll be returning to. Highly recommended!

Pluto has raised prices, but the services continue to go down. Now there is the Pluto-Sommerzeit. On weekdays, it closes now at 3am instead of 6am. Apparently only in the summer months. I hope we can trust that it will change back to 6am after the summer. Strange though; Pluto advises visitors to come by public transport, but now they close at a time when there is no public transport at all!

What you should expect at Pluto: 1) Rudeness vs Directness Someone being direct does not hesitate to address a situation PRIVATELY. What you can expect at Pluto is a public scolding where at least a third person becomes aware of the situation. EXAMPLE: Employee sees guest with his own bottle of water. 0 out of 10 employees will: Walk up to the guest discretely, point out that the policy of the Sauna is that external drinks and food are not permitted. 10 out of 10 employees will: Yell from across the room over: You are not allowed to have a bottle.

2) Apathy vs Empathy EXAMPLE: USUALLY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE AUFGUSS 1 out of 10 employees says this: “if you feel you can’t handle the heat, you are welcome to leave at any time. Let me know if you don´t feel well” 9 out of 10 employees says this: “if you feel you can’t handle the heat, you are welcome leave leave at any time. I don’t want to have to deal with you getting sick”

---- I've tried to address this rudeness for years - only to be met with the typical responses that 6ermans give, which is to double down on the rudeness by pointing out to unhappy customers about the AGB, if you know what an AGB is - if you don´t, you should have learned what an AGB is before you moved to Germany. That´s the attitude. So, be mindful that every time you enter an establishment in Germany, you should first ask for or look up their AGB. Yes, it literally gets that bad.

In the example referred above, about a year ago, I spoke with an employee about his rudeness that I observed towards the customer. This employee had the audacity to tell me that the customer he had just scolded should have read the guidelines of the sauna before coming in. (Mind you they are in small print) somewhere in a corner of the entrance area.

None of my good friends want to go to Pluto anymore.

In this last display of rudeness that I witnessed yesterday towards the crowd, I dared to point out IN PRIVATE that ACTING LIKE A TOTAL CNT is not a personality trait but a flaw. Before you know it, the reality-TV drama fighting mode went into full effect. The angry queen employee wanted to be seen lashing out.

What needs to be addressed is that employees need to understand that ultimately their salaries come from customers. Here is why:

When I went to the desk to ask for a de-escalation point, little, as usual was done to resolve the situation. I was scapegoated.

The employee that I spoke with, played devils advocate.

I asked this employee if the way his colleague just acted is customer service like. He clarified to me that there are no customers at Pluto. He reiterated that WE are all guests as to insinuate that we are all guests in their house. So what I got from this second exchange was that SAUNA PLUTO is THEIR WORKPLACE. Their workplace is THEIR TERRITORY.

Great sauna , especially busy at the weekends. considering the capacity they only have 2 French showers and lately 1 of these has been out of service for a while. Meaning long queues for the remaining 1 in service. When this occurs the place can get messy as guys can’t be bothered to wait and clean up Properly.

First time going here. The facilities are nice. It was not crowded,but that could be because I was there during a weekday. Although I speak hardly any German, the staff was nice and friendly and I could manage to express myself, also with other guests this was not an issue. 😈

There are 3 floors. The ground floor is a bar area with a small pool and sauna. Basement is nice with a jacuzzi, steam labyrinth, hot stone tablet to relax on, and a mase like cruising area. There was enough action going on. There is another sauna there, but I had the impression it was not turned on. The top floor is mostly cabins to use with the people you meet while you are there. The design is nice in the basement and ground floor. Lighting is well designed to accentuate the male body. I will visit again, but maybe during the weekend when there are more people around.

There is a great atmosphere, environment and cleanliness. The sauna section is very large and spacious. And as for the upper floor, there were few people on weekdays. But the naked area experience on Friday night was amazing. Just 1 important point: most saunas around Europe supply bracelets for bottom and top man. Like red bracelet for bottom and blue bracelet for top. This is to prevent misunderstandings in maze and very important. Please provide this asap.

One of the best saunas I’ve ever been to, I must appreciate them for maintaining the place very well. They even have a sleeping room with bean bags for you to take rest if you’re visiting for long. Dry sauna is huge and well maintained. I personally not happy with the steam sauna because of lighting, it’s way too dark than it should be I believe. The rest all, having visited multiple saunas in Europe, this is one of the best sauna. Keep going wonderful team 😍

The best sauna I know. Its a huge sauna lots of hallways to explore. The facilities are also all really nice, everything is always really clean. And when it's not they clean it up really quickly (if you tell them about it ofcourse)

Most of the staff is also really friendly.

And the food is also pretty good for a sauna. Nothing to spectacular but nothing to complain about.

Most of the guys that visit are hot. I am never disappointed when I leave.

I travelled from abroad to experience this sauna and I must say it was worth it! Beautifully designed, it was crowded when I was there, so I was able to chose some youngsters, it was fun there! I also managed to speak with the owner at the bar, he is a super nice person and runs this place well. Coming back one day again..

Lots of space in this clean and central sauna. Friendly staff. Only minor thing is that the pool and the jacuzzi are cold 🥶, so except for the very good Finnish sauna, there is not a lot of relaxation.

Visited on Saturday evening the sauna. My friends offered me, I should go to see it. Pluto is one of the best saunas wich I have ever seen. Employees are so kind and helpful, sauna is super clean, all the areas are very well and beautifully designed for a gay sauna. I would like to give 10 stars instead of 5. Well done.

first and last time at pluto. to start, their discount code for twinks on their social media wasn't working and i felt like an idiot just standing there as the cashier was completely nonchalant, but OK 20€, still expensive but i heard good reviews. but then the inside was dirty, and almost nobody was there. there were used condoms laying around, and it smelled discusting. on top of that, the whirlpool and sauna was under construction, although they didn't mention anywhere that they were defect. we left after 10 minutes, but they refused to give our money back.

20€ down the drain, as well as the 4 hours by train to and from Essen. we ended up going to a different sauna in Köln, because at least things work there.

maybe it is a nice sauna when things actually work, but this escapade, along with the cashiers nonchalant attitude ruined our day.

Working hard? Holiday time? Want to escape from daily routine? This place has to be visited. Very warm welcome on entrance. This sauna has around 500 lockers! The most interesting place for us it was relaxing room with nice relaxing music and beautiful atmosphere. There is also big steam room and sauna. Bar for beer and drinks lovers, tables, resting area. Plenty of showers. Pool. Jacuzzi probably enough for whole rugby team. There is also smoking area as well. Everything is located across three levels. Please take a Google maps with you because you will be lost in the maze of pleasure for your body and soul.

Huge sauna, very clean, with loads of different cruising spaces, saunas, pools at different temperatures, private cabins, a few with slings, and a special douche facility. A nicely decorated cafe which serves alcoholic drinks and all sorts of sweet and savoury snacks. It was very busy on Saturday evening with guys of all ages.

Amazing, clean, friendly and available staff, hug place full of men of all kind. Whatever your preferences are, you will always find a way to keep your hands full while enjoying a good time wether by meeting likeminded people or relaxing in the saunas/jacuzzi. Great spaces, atmosphere and facilities! Well visited at the Youngsters night. Food is okay, but made with love I’m sure! Appreciate the recent renovations; admirable that they chose to do these during/after the pandemic!

Great sauna Tip: water in Swimming pool to cold

I was in quit a lot of saunas but this sauna is still the best. It is very big and a lot of diffrent kind of men are coming. Young, old and from diffrent countries. Only in the steam cabine can use a good pafrume. It smells now to swet. Maby you can make the website also in Dutch and English for the people don't speak German.

Currently the best sauna in Germany. It might not be the most beautiful place, but the men and attitude of both the customers and personnel is great!

Besides of a couple nice saunas in Kologne, the Pluto in Essen - is the only sauna worthy to visit in the state North Rhine-Westphalia, do not loos your time for anything else. Definately - Pluto remains one of the best and conviniant saunas in Germany.

Great sauna, as for the sauna facilties, pool, jacuzzi, restaurant etc..... very acceptable pricing. We, my partner and I, visited more sauna's....this is the best! And for sure important too....al lot of nice guys, very hot....

The nicest facilities that I’ve been to.

Its perfect, but it's good to distinguish top or bottom or versatile by towel or locker key. Like some gay sauna

€28 for entry without drinks included, it’s very expensive. Deleterious atmosphere, low-end clientele. I advise against.

I visited here several times. It is nice atmosphere with mixed audience and nice staff. I personally like visiting on Thursday and Friday since it is not too crowded nor empty.

It was too busy and the jacuzzi was not working. There were many used condoms on the floors and I did not see it being cleaned that often.

Its very dirty! A And the music its so loud ... that u cant relax a bit! And at cabine the Locker its completly Brocken ... u cant have private moment ... someone allways open and get extremely boring... I believe its not a right place..
